PRESENTATION NEW DISC "ABRIL 1959"
Last Thursday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m., Maddison Pack presented its second studio album “Abril 1959” in the Eduardo del Pueyo Auditorium of the CSMA – Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón.
The new album, which is published in a Special Limited Edition of 110 units, contains a vinyl record with 7 original songs by the quartet that are integrated into a book with texts, comics and photographs. It also includes a CD with the audio story and extra content of 7 bonus tracks of unreleased recordings of the quartet live.
The quartet performed the songs from the new album live with the narration of the story and projections of the works of the collaborating artists. Along with the members of the quartet: Javier Calvo (clarinet), Noel Redolar (piano), Ernesto Calvo (double bass) and Israel Tubilleja (drums), Ángel Redolar (guitar) and Claudia Parra (vocals) also collaborated on the music.
Maddison Pack was accompanied by the artists who collaborated on the project, including: the announcer and dubbing actor Ángel Redolar Cortés, voice of the album's audio story and presenter of the event; the writer Ricardo Bosque, author of the story that accompanies the production “The Glasses of Bill Evans”; the writer Fernando Sanmartín, author of the narrative “Essence of what a spectator perceives”; the cartoonist Juanfer Briones, creator of the pictures that accompany the story; the photographer Mas Mastral, responsible for the captivating album cover; the award-winning photographer Javier Cruces Puyuelo, with 3 Goya awards to his credit and author of the book's back cover photography; and the designer Rubén Rodríguez from Estudio Ductus.
At the end of the presentation of “Abril 1959”, in gratitude for the warm applause, the members of Maddison Pack performed again the song that gives its name to the album with the voice of the young vocalist Claudia Parra, and were available to the attendees to the signing of copies. An evening of genuine and authentic jazz at the CSMA.
