GOYA ROOM, ALJAFERÍA PALACE
December 13, 2023
At 6:30 p.m. last Wednesday, December 13, in the Goya Room of the Aljafería Palace in Zaragoza, the members of the Maddison Pack quartet announced the launch of their next album “ABRIL 1959” accompanied by the collaborating artists who participate in the album: the announcer and dubbing actor Ángel Redolar Cortés, voice of the album's audio story and presenter of the event; the writer Ricardo Bosque, author of the story that accompanies the production; the cartoonist Juanfer Briones, creator of the drawings that accompany the story; renowned photographer Mas Mastral, responsible for the album's captivating cover; the award-winning photographer Javier Cruces Puyuelo, with 3 Goya awards under his belt; the designer Rubén Rodríguez from Estudio Ductus; and the young female vocalist Claudia Parra.
The musicians who make up the quartet were in charge of explaining to the attendees all the details, some curiosities and the music of the new album. Later, the collaborating artists told their creative experience for this new álbum.
The new album includes a vinyl record with 7 original songs by the quartet integrated into a book that will house texts, drawings and photographs. In addition, the album includes a CD with the 7 songs, an audio story and extra content. It is an album inspired by the "noir" atmosphere of jazz but that presents a Mediterranean-French melodic "leitmotif" that reaches its peak in the song "Abril 1959", a beautiful melody that begins and concludes the album with the voice of the very young vocalist Claudia Parra.
The event ended with the acoustic musical performance of some of the songs that make up the album and with the announcement of the OPENING OF THE NEW ALBUM RESERVATION PERIOD, from now until the day of the presentation concert in April 2024.
