Maddison Pack is more than just a band; it is a meeting point where diverse backgrounds and individual experiences intersect and complement one another. It is the result of a fascinating fusion of journeys that each musician brings from their own origins. This union of historical solidity and fresh, contemporary talent is what gives our sound its distinctive and unmistakable character.
Our melodic line is shaped by two key profiles that represent the quartet’s balance. Javier Calvo Peralta (Professor of Clarinet and graduate in Geography and History from the University of Zaragoza), our clarinetist (and flautist), defines the band’s sonic identity with a career that merges the sophistication of chamber music with the vitality of jazz. Beside him, pianist Noel Redolar Cortés brings the sound of the new generation. Recognized as the "Young Musical Talent of Aragon" and winner of over 25 international awards, Noel has showcased his mastery on prestigious stages such as Sala Mozart and refined his musical language at Musikene. This level of excellence, combined with his recent tenure as a professor at the CSMA and winning the Pilar Bayona scholarship, injects a constant harmonic freshness that elevates every Maddison Pack composition.
The unwavering foundation of our quartet lies in the rhythm section, comprised of two outstanding professionals. On drums is Israel Tubilleja, a graduate of the Higher Conservatory of Navarra. His vast experience has been forged through years of professional activity in Barcelona and Madrid, sharing the stage at the most iconic venues with the most relevant musicians of his generation. His extensive discography, featuring multiple collaborations with bands such as Humphrey and the Farmers or The Cominmens, is a testament to the mastery and versatility he has brought to Maddison Pack since 2017. Alongside him, Ernesto, our double bassist, completes the foundation, providing the harmonic restraint, the essential walking bass, and the impeccable cohesion required. Together, this rhythm section ensures the perfect pulse that sustains the quartet's improvisations and melodies.
