A new show in the making
Jazz, comics and noir fiction on the same stage.
Today we have news. The kind we have been wanting to share with you for a while.
Maddison Pack, Ricardo Bosque and Juanfer Briones are working together again. After the release of Abril 1959 (the quartet's second studio album and third release, a project that brought together music, noir fiction and drawings in a unique object), the connection between the musicians, the writer and the comic artist did not end with the album. Quite the opposite: it opened up something new. A new stage production is under way.
And not only them. Many of those who took part in Abril 1959 could be back on board. And when something like that happens, it is impossible to leave it there.
From that connection comes a new idea for the stage. A live experience in which the jazz of Maddison Pack, the comics of Juanfer Briones and the noir fiction of Ricardo Bosque will share the same space and the same moment, with new material created specifically for the stage. Three languages that will merge before your eyes and ears in real time.
A concert in every sense, with the projection of Juanfer Briones's comic as a stage companion. We can tell you that Ricardo Bosque has just finished a new chapter of the story, fresh out of the oven. The comic is being created, and so is the quartet's new music. Everything is moving forward. Everything points to the stage.
We have wanted to do something like this for a long time: a format that takes the world of Abril 1959 beyond the physical album, sets it in motion and lets it breathe live in front of an audience.
When there is more to tell, you will hear it here first.
